Understanding Safeguarding and Prevent - Level 2 NCFE Certificate

Course Overview

The purpose of this course is to increase the learner’s knowledge and awareness of the Prevent Duty and safeguarding, including online safety.

By completing the course, learners will develop knowledge of safeguarding in an environment where they have a duty of care.

Course Content

This qualification contains three mandatory units:

Unit 01 Understanding the Prevent Duty
Unit 02 Understanding Safeguarding
Unit 03 Understanding Online Safety.

Entry Requirement

In order to complete this Distance Learning Course at no charge you will need to match the following entry criteria:

  • Are a resident of the EEU (European Economic Area) and have been for at least 3 years
  • Will be undertaking your learning within England
  • Are aged 19 or above
  • If you are 19-23 year olds you must have already achieved a level 2 qualification or equivalent
  • If you are 24+ there are no formal entry requirements for this course but you will find it helpful to have a good standard of English and Maths

Assessment

All units are internally assessed using a portfolio of evidence.

Where does this course lead to

This course encourages progression towards the role of Designated Safeguarding Lead. Alternatively learners may progress to one of the following courses:

NCFE CACHE Level 3 qualifications in Supporting Teaching and Learning
• Level 3 qualifications in Working with Children and Young People
• Level 3 Certificate in Working with Vulnerable Young People.
