It is a work-based qualification and therefore you will need a supportive employer to allow assessment in the workplace. It is usually completed over a 12 month period but course length may vary according to setting and the nature of your job role. You will be assessed by one of our highly-skilled and occupationally-competent members of staff.
You will be allocated an assessor who visits the work setting every 4 to 6 weeks to support and guide you through your qualification. You will need to complete both mandatory units plus optional knowledge & competency units. The mandatory units include, safeguarding and protection, personal development, mental health and equality and Inclusion
The minimum entry age is 18 for this course, successful completion of a level 2 diploma in care is desirable. This is a Vocational Qualification and candidates need to be currently working in a care setting within a senior role and have 3-6 month’s work experience.
This diploma is delivered in the workplace and is assessed on a continuous basis. Assessment methods can include: workplace observations, witness testimonies, professional discussion, oral and written questions and work product evidence.
You could progress onto a level 4 Diploma in Management or start an Associate Practitioner course
