Course Overview

This one-year advanced level course covers the practical skills and knowledge that will help prepare you for a career in industry. You will learn how to plan and manage a large-scale event, team leadership and supervision, food and beverage, organisation in the kitchen, food safety, healthy eating and undertake a  work-related project.

Course Content

You will receive instruction, guidance and encouragement to practise and develop the skills necessary to achieve the award. The course covers a wide range of subjects.

Students will achieve qualifications in Food Hygiene and Health and Safety.

Entry Requirement

Many students will join this course having completed a Level 2 qualification in a relevant subject. Direct entry is also possible for those with significant industry experience.

Assessment

The course is continuously assessed through coursework assignments and practical tasks.

Where does this course lead to

This course is a recognised route into Higher Education. Learners may progress to a Higher National Diploma or Degree courses. Students from similar Level 3 courses are now working in positions such as Head Chef and Chef de Partie at Lainston House Hotel, Operations Manager at Barcelo Group, Junior Food and Beverage Manager at Pennyhill Park Hotel, Conference and Banqueting Coordinator and a Head Chef in London's West End.
