Course Overview

This course is designed to give you the knowledge, skills and understanding to coordinate events, including securing funding and supporting the licensing and permissions application process. You will organise a live event offsite for the local community, undertaking risk assessments, obtaining licences from local authorities, and liaising with external contacts. 

This course does not carry any UCAS points.

Course Content

The qualification covers a number of mandatory units set by BIIAB and some optional units the college has chosen to make this course specific to Events Management.

  • Principles of Business
  • Principles of people management
  • Managing Events
  • Employee rights and responsibilities
  • Manage a Project
  • Manage a Budget


Entry Requirement

  • Five GCSEs at grade 4 or above, including English and maths, or a relevant Level 2 qualification.

This qualification is assessed via a number of differ methods designed to allow learners to demonstrate their knowledge and understanding:

  • Learner reflective accounts
  • Questions and Answers
  • Assignments and Projects

Where does this course lead to

This course does not carry any UCAS points.

The college is planning on developing a Level 4 Events Management course to run from September 2020 (depending on application numbers).

This course is also designed for learners who are looking to access industry or further their career.
