Level 3 Creative Media in Esports Event Management UAL Diploma

Course Overview

This course is for those with a passion for esports, live spectator events and broadcasting. In a practical environment you will be expected to play a key role in the creation of a series of online and large-scale live spectator events. Throughout the course you will explore broadcast and network technology and event management. You will learn exactly what is required to run and manage successful esports tournaments.

Course Content

    Take part in the project management and delivery of live esports events and gain real-world work experience

    Explore computer network and gaming rig design and setup to enable optimum conditions for multiplayer game performance

    Experience the breadth of the careers available within the esports industry and give them a go, from shoutcasting to community management to the production crew

    Learn skills in all aspects of multi-camera production through working in teams on live-streamed broadcasts.  

    Develop your understanding of how broadcast and network technologies combine with creative vision and project management to deliver quality video and audio content for esports events.

    Create and playtest your own original multiplayer games and examine what goes into making a good competitive gaming experience.

    Create effective digital marketing strategies and content for an esports enterprise and use advertising to promote events.

    Source and produce television, radio and social media journalistic content, learn how to write esports focused news stories and operate audio and video recording equipment.

    Develop strategies and mechanisms to support the health and wellbeing of all those involved in an esports enterprise. 

    Explore the law, regulations and legislation that impacts those operating, taking part, promoting and reporting on esports events.

Entry Requirement

Five GCSEs at grade 4 or above, including English and maths, or a relevant Level 2 qualification.


Students will be assessed by coursework culminating in their choice of specialism for their final project.

The majority of students completing the UAL Level 3 Extended Diploma in Creative Media Production & Technology (Esports and Live Event Management) will progress to undergraduate study in a range of related courses.
