It is suitable for students who wish to progress to university or who are looking to start up their own company, become a freelancer or run their own projects and explore and extend their creative practice.
Over the course of 3 units students will learn the following;How to start their own creative business venture, including how to position and brand themselves within a competitive market. Examine business models and develop skills in project management, copyright laws, fundraising and budgeting, pitching proposals, marketing and social media. Research, develop and refine their own creative ideas which they will test and develop through innovative thinking and feedback from industry experts. Test the potential of their creative venture through the creation of an in-depth business plan outlining budgetary, legal, branding, marketing and health and safety requirements within the context of the creative industries.
Over the course of 3 units students will learn the following;
Completion of a Level 3 qualification (or equivalent) or alternatively a strong portfolio of work and discussion at interview.
All work is assessed through interim deadlines and submission of coursework.
Students can progress to university or apply their knowledge to setting up and running their own projects or business.
