The L2 Diploma in Public Services and Sport course is designed to equip you with the knowledge, understanding and skills required for success within either the world of the Uniformed Public Services, or within the Sport and Leisure industry. Job roles of interest include the Police, The Fire and Rescue Service, the Armed Forces or within Personal Training, Lifeguarding or Sports Coaching.
On this one-year course, you will;Investigate employment within a variety of exciting careersDevelop Physical fitness; your own personal development or how to train othersUndertake adventurous activities Participate in competitive sportsDevelop team working and problem-solving skills Health and safety training and regulationsHealth and hygiene training and understandingFollow uniformed service routine Exploring equality and diversity in the workplaceStudents will have the opportunity to undertake a variety of enrichment activities; which include; Residential trip to the Isle of WightOpportunity to gain First Aid and Lifeguarding (NPLQ) QualificationGuest Speakers from all Uniformed Services and Sport & Leisure IndustriesVisits to external partners, including Longmoor Barracks (British Army), CTCRM Lympstone (Royal Marines), University Campus of Football Business (Wembley Stadium) and Local Gym/Sports Facilities
On this one-year course, you will;
Students will have the opportunity to undertake a variety of enrichment activities; which include;
Four or more GCSEs at grades 9-3. Pass or above in a related vocational Level 2 qualification will also be accepted. Or completion of our Future Pathways course.
This course contains no exams, and your skills will be developed and assessed through assignments, workbooks and visual skill/coaching assessments. To be awarded this qualification, learners must achieve a Pass (or higher) grade in all units.
Learners who complete this qualification, at a level of Merit or above, can progress onto a Level 3 Programme, within either Sport or the Uniformed Public Services and continue their development towards a career within either industry.
