Students Take Part in Barbering Competition

Five students on Level 2 & 3 hairdressing & barbering courses at BCoT are taking part in the National Student of the Year Barbering competition run by British Barbers’ Association (BBA). As part of the competition, Level 2 students have to do a basic haircut and finish, whilst Level 3 students are tasked with doing a precision creative cut and finish. The creative team from 'British Hair' gave a masterclass in cutting short hair to BCoT’s Level 3 Hairdressing students. Simon Ostler, founder of 'British Hair' and his Creative Director Amanda came to the College to do demonstrations and give students the chance to practice cutting techniques. The BCoT & Crystal Palace Football Academy began their build up to the League Cup Final with an interactive visit to Selhurst Park. Catering and Hospitality students from Basingstoke College were under the spotlight on Friday when they created and served a banqueting buffet at the Basingstoke Holiday Inn for more than 50 hotel staff. Vintage boutique wins 'Best Small Business'

A quirky vintage boutique has been voted ‘Best Small Business’ by the shoppers of Basingstoke as part of the national ‘Small Business Saturday’ (SBS) UK Campaign.  Vintage Treasures, which is owned by Victoria Arrowsmith, won the coveted title, along with Trilbys Hairdressers and Barbers.
