This Apprenticeship provides the skills and knowledge needed to support doctors, nurses, allied health professionals and healthcare scientists when they provide healthcare. You could work in various clinical healthcare support roles to provide patient care in a range of settings (e.g. as a clinical healthcare support worker or healthcare assistant).
To successfully achieve the Healthcare Support Worker Standards you will need to achieve a
Level 2 Diploma in Clinical Healthcare
Maths and English Functional skills L1 (unless you already have the equivalent)
Attempt Maths and English Functional skills L2
The Care Certificate
Complete the End point Assessment and achieve a grade - pass, merit or distinction
Learners need to be currently working in healthcare environment and working towards or have achieved the Care Certificate.
A functional skills entry level 3 or higher (or equivalent) in Maths and English is required
Once on the programme an assessor will be assigned that will visit the workplace regularly. They will complete assessment plans and reviews to keep the learner on target. They will support with collection of the required evidence needed for the qualification through different assessment methods such as; professional discussion, observations, written questions, verbal questions, witness statements and any assignments.
The Healthcare Support worker standards, provide you with skills and knowledge to support your colleagues in the healthcare sector and can enable you to progress your career as a healthcare worker.
