Course Overview

The Level 5 Higher National Diploma in Healthcare Professions’ Support for England is designed to support progression into relevant occupational areas or on to pre-registration study. Students completing the Pearson qualification will be aiming to go on to employment or progress to the second or final year at university.

The units within the qualification have been drawn from the Pearson BTEC Higher Nationals in Healthcare Practice (Healthcare Assistant Practitioner). They have been edited in response to feedback from stakeholders, which include employers and education providers. Professional bodies were consulted and engaged with the original qualification development. We are very grateful to the employers, education providers, and other individuals who have generously shared their time and expertise to help develop this qualification from the existing HND in Healthcare Practice (Assistant Practice), and those who have supported the final iteration of the Higher Nationals in Healthcare Professions’ Support for England:

Entry Requirement

A successful learner for this HE program will require one or more of:
  • A level 3 qualification in Healthcare
  • GCSE English and Maths Grade A-C/9-4
  • Access to Higher Education 
  • Related work experience
  • An international qualification of the above.
