This course has been designed specifically for mature students who have been out of full-time education for at least one year or do not have the relevant qualifications for entry to higher education.
You will attend college three days a week between 9.30 and 3.00.
You will be assigned a personal tutor who will support you with your UCAS application and personal development. As well as the core study skills units, this course has been designed to offer 21 credits in Biology, 15 credits in Chemistry and 9 credits in psychology so that the learner has a good foundation in both subject areas enabling applications to a wide range of biology/chemistry/psychology related degrees. You will have 45 credits which are graded, 15 credits which are ungraded study skills.
Your learning is further supported by Google Classrooms where all resources and assignments are uploaded for you to use.

You need to be aged 19+ from the beginning of September.
You should have a minimum of GCSE English or Maths at grade C/4 or Functional Skills Level 2 in English or Maths. If you do not have either English or Maths you can complete this in addition to the Access course.
This course is assessed in a variety of ways with assignments including: presentations, discussions, tests, projects, practical work, problem solving exercises, essays, scientific reports, diagrams and interviews.
This course is designed to get you to University and is worth between 48 and 144 UCAS points (for September entry), depending on the grade you achieve. This Access course can be used for entry to Psychology degree programs.
