Young chefs win 11 gold & silver awards at British Culinary Championships
The College is thrilled to announce the outstanding achievements of its Hospitality students at a recent regional competition, where they showcased exceptional skill and talent across a range of culinary and service disciplines. The students brought home an impressive haul of medals, including multiple Golds, High Golds, Silvers, and a coveted "Best in Class" award.
Leading the charge was Evie Gage, who demonstrated remarkable all-around expertise, earning High Gold for both Fish Filleting and Salmon Starter, a Silver for her Pork Main, and the highly distinguished "Best in Class" for Live Cooking.
Ashton Vivian proved to be a master mixologist, securing a Gold in Cocktail Making, in addition to a High Gold for intricate Napkin Folds. Not to be outdone, Thomas Wheeler also impressed in the Cocktail Making category, earning a Silver medal.
The culinary arts saw strong performances from Amy Wright and Lauren Radley. Amy achieved High Gold in both Pasta and Veg Cuts, while Lauren also excelled with a High Gold in Veg Cuts and a Silver in Pasta.
"We are incredibly proud of all our students who competed," said Vicki Quilter, Faculty Head of Hospitality. "Their dedication, hard work, and the high level of skill they displayed are a testament to their talent and the quality of our Hospitality courses here at BCoT. These results not only highlight their individual successes but also reinforce BCoT's commitment to nurturing the next generation of culinary and hospitality professionals."
These achievements highlight BCoT's reputation for excellence in vocational training and its commitment to providing students with the practical skills and industry exposure needed to succeed in a competitive field.
