Foundation Learning

We understand there are many ways of learning and people are at different stages of their educational development, and are committed to providing alternative curriculum and tailored programmes for students who would benefit from a specialist provision. Our courses help students to develop academic, emotional, social, life and employability skills to prepare them for the future. Our courses provide small, supportive classes and one-to-one support to ensure all learners feel safe, can access the curriculum and can move on to the next step in their lives.

For more information, please contact Lynsey Spillane, Course Director on 01256 306312 or lynsey.spillane@bcot.ac.uk.

Prospects (Employability)

A full-time course aimed at people aged 16 to 25 with special educational needs (with an EHCP). The course will lead to the NCFE Level 1 Employability Certificate and you will then undertake a supported work placement so you can develop your work skills in a safe and understanding environment. You will also study English and maths and have regular speakers and sessions from people in industry. You will also be given a ‘job coach’ who will support you to move on to employment.

Foundation Pathways

A full-time course aimed at 16 to 19-year-olds who require extra support and who may struggle on a mainstream programme. The course incorporates English, maths, personal development and life skills which are studied alongside a mainstream vocational course which includes work experience.

I love to learn hands-on so the way of studying here at BCoT is perfect for me.
