Celebrating Success at BCoT

Hard work pays off as BCoT celebrates academic accomplishments

The college achieved a fantastic 97.9% pass rate across a diverse range of full-time Level 3 courses, including Animal Management, Construction and Hospitality and Catering, up from 97.7% last year. BTEC courses saw a remarkable 98.8% pass rate, a significant increase from 95.1% last year. The same success was seen across T-Levels courses, where the college achieved a 96.8% pass rate, up from 93.1% last year.

Ambrose Olosunde earned a triple distinction star in his Level 3 BTEC National Extended Diploma in Information Technology. His accomplishments include reaching the WorldSkills UK finals in Web Development and building a website for a local employer, showcasing his self-motivation and professionalism.  He has now secured a role as a Data Validation Officer at Matrix Security Watchdog in Basingstoke.

He said: “I’m delighted with my results – they are the best grades I could have possibly asked for. My time at BCoT has been a transformative experience. The lecturers were not just teachers but my friends and mentors. Learning with them has been so fun, and I’ve enjoyed so many opportunities - the WorldSkills competition finals were an achievement I am incredibly proud of. I am very grateful.”

Amy French achieved a distinction star in her NCFE Level 3 Extended Diploma for Entry to the Uniformed Services and has been accepted into two police forces for the Police Constable Degree Apprenticeship.

“The last two years at BCoT have by far been the best,” Amy said. “The college and my course have shaped me as a person. I have grown in confidence and independence, and I have my lecturers to thank for that. They’ve been extremely helpful and supportive and would push me to do things I normally wouldn’t do.”

Principal, Anthony Bravo OBE, said: “Congratulations to all our students on receiving their results – they’ve worked so hard and should be very proud of everything they’ve achieved.

“We believe education leads to better life chances and have developed our courses to be accessible to all students, whether they thrive on classroom-based learning or prefer a more ‘active’ learning approach. I wish all our students the very best as they take the next steps on their education journey.

“I’d also like to thank our talented teaching staff and support teams for their efforts this year. The dedication shown by our staff and students is reflected in our amazing pass rate, and I’d personally like to thank each one of them for all their hard work.”
