Educational adventure in Thailand

Fifty students, two-and-a-half weeks, and an experience they'll never forget!

Students from across the college spent over 2 weeks together in Thailand, diving headfirst into the culture and soaking up every moment of the trip. This trip encompassed work experience, sightseeing, and incredible activities...

The first few days of the trip saw all 50 students exploring the country together. They visited temples, a floating market, and a coconut sugar factory. Beyond sightseeing, the students experienced the thrill of kayaking and even met some elephant friends!
Within their own course groups, our students spent 5 days understanding what their industries look like on the other side of the world. Our Hospitality students learned from the best and got to cook alongside Thai chef lecturers. The construction students visited a range of sites to further their understanding of sustainable construction and even built a greenhouse for a farmer! Animal Management got stuck in feeding elephants, sheering sheep, and washing cats, while our Business and Travel students visited a school and delivered lessons of their own. The Public Services students even got to visit the Thai uniformed students!
The growth and education didn't stop there. The entire group spent the rest of their days learning about the country's rich history, visiting an orphanage, and experiencing all that Thailand had to offer.

Immersing themselves in the life and culture of Thailand gave our students a new perspective on their own lives, with one student saying: "I knew how lucky and fortunate we were as a country, but this trip cemented that for me. We all should be more grateful."

All of our students came home with only the best things to say about their time in Thailand: “The whole trip from start to finish was a life-changing experience and there is nothing I would change. It was awesome and I would like to thank everyone so much for giving me this opportunity.”

The students learned about their courses through work experience, learned skills such as teamwork and compassion, and ultimately learned something new about themselves.

We would like to send a big Thank You to Adventure Beyond Thailand for all the work they put into this trip, and to our staff who organised and went on the trip with the students.
