In remembrance of Dave Finch
BCoT lecturer Dave Finch sadly passed away on 6 January 2021.
On Wednesday 6 January 2021, Dave Finch sadly passed away. Dave touched many peoples lives. He was a loving father, Pops, brother, a great friend and supportive colleague.
Principal Anthony Bravo said: "It is with great sadness that we have to announce the death of our friend and colleague, Dave Finch. Dave will be sorely missed by everyone at Basingstoke College of Technology. Dave was highly respected by both students and colleagues for his practical skills in the construction department and will be missed immensely by all those who had the pleasure of knowing him. On behalf of all of us here at BCoT, we offer Dave’s family and friends our most heartfelt condolences and sympathy at this difficult time."
Head of Construction and the Future Skills Centre, Steve Gilder shared: "I think all would agree that Dave was a genuine 'larger than life character'. He was involved within the BCoT Construction Department for nearly 12 years, where he taught across a range of subjects, most recently working with our full-time Multi-skills and Carpentry students and Carpentry apprentices. He was an adaptable member of the team who brought an in-depth knowledge of the construction industry into the department, knowledge that was kept up to date with his involvement within the construction sector outside of his role at the college. He established unique relationships with students and colleagues alike and will be sorely missed."
