Launch of Adult Professional Learning Courses

Adult Course Guide & Open Event this Monday 1 June, 5-7pm. Join us!

27 May 2026

To celebrate the launch of the new adult courses programme, the College is opening its doors on Monday 1 June, hosting an Adult Courses Open Event from 5:00pm to 7:00pm on campus at the University Centre.

The event offers prospective students the perfect opportunity to visit the campus, view the outstanding facilities, speak directly with expert tutors, and get tailored advice on career pathways, flexible learning options, and financial support.

Packed with an extensive range of professional and technical courses starting in September 2026, the newly released guide is designed for adults eager to retrain, boost their careers, or gain cutting-edge skills in today’s rapidly evolving job market.

Commenting on the extensive offerings, which span from Level 2 courses right through to higher education and university-level qualifications, Head of Apprenticeships and Adult Learning Michelle Tejevo, said:
"The launch of our new 2026/27 guide and our campus open event represents an incredible opportunity for adults to invest in themselves and their futures. Whether you are looking to change careers or step up in your current role, we offer a wide array of courses flexibly available during both the day and evenings. Coming along this Monday evening allows you to see our industry-equivalent facilities first-hand and find the path that fits your life."

A major highlight of the new curriculum is that BCoT is now an approved provider for apprenticeship units. This exciting development allows employers and individual learners to study specific, targeted modules from full apprenticeship standards. It offers a highly customisable way to plug skills gaps and upskill in specific areas such as engineering and construction without the commitment of a full multi-year programme.
Alongside these new units, BCoT continues its proud tradition as a highly regarded centre for prestigious professional qualifications. The College is well-known as an established, high-quality centre for CPCAB Counselling qualifications, alongside top-tier industry standards such as AAT for Accounting and CIPD for Human Resources, providing clear, trusted career pathways for those looking to enter or progress within regulated professions.

Recognising the modern need for ultimate flexibility, the 2026/27 guide details BCoT’s extensive range of free distance-learning courses. These flexible programmes are perfect for building a CV, demonstrating a commitment to continuous professional development, and fitting study around busy family or working lives.  Additionally, for those aspiring to university but lacking traditional qualifications, BCoT provides a range of intensive yet highly supportive Access to Higher Education courses. These are designed to kickstart brand-new careers in competitive fields like business, engineering, computing, psychology, social work, nursing, sports science, and veterinary studies.

To ensure education remains accessible to all, the College offers a 10% early bird discount for students enrolling before 31 July, together with a range of flexible funding options. This includes discounts for those who are currently unemployed, receiving benefits, or on a low income. Advanced Learner Loans, which are not dependent on income or credit checks, are also available to help cover the cost of course fees for eligible adult learners.
