Course Introduction

This one-year BTEC qualification covers a mixture of different subjects that reflect popular employment streams in the IT industry. This course is the ideal foundation for you to progress to a level 2 course, and will develop a range of both digital and transferable skills to support your progression.

Course Content

On this course, you will study a range of topics which will develop your IT skills and knowledge and prepare you for further study at level 2. You will also develop a range of transferable skills, including research, personal development and teamwork. The units you will study include:

Entry Requirement

GCSE English and maths at grade 2 or above

Assessment

Assessment is through a range of written and practical based assignments.

Successful completion of this course leads to the achievement of a Level 1 BTEC Diploma in Vocational Studies (Computing) and progression to a Level 2 ICT course.
