Course Overview
During this 2-year programme, students will learn the core knowledge and skills that are needed for entry to a range of digital occupations and underpin their knowledge with a 9 week placement in industry. Following this course students will be prepared for occupations such as: software developer, web developer, computer games developer, mobile app developer, UX (user experience) designer and software test engineer. Students can also progress into higher level apprenticeships or a degree level course upon completion.
Course Content
During this course learners will develop an understanding of: using data in software design, using technology to analyse and solve problems, legal and regulatory and moral implications of technology, using physical, virtual and cloud environments, emerging technologies such as the Internet of Things (IoT), Artificial Intelligence (AI), Augmented Reality (AR), and Blockchain, internet security, digital project planning as well as software design, development, testing, maintenance and support.
Entry Requirement
You will need to be aged 16-18 to apply for a T-Level along with 5 GCSE's at grade 4 or above, including English and Maths.
Assessment
Assessment is through a range of methods including two exams, an employer set project, and externally set assignment.
Where does this course lead to
Learners can progress to industry positions after completion or may go on to study for a degree or a higher level apprenticeship.
