College students’ achievements take centre stage on results day

The college achieved a fantastic 97.7% pass rate

15 Aug 2024

The college achieved a fantastic 97.7% pass rate across a diverse range of full-time Level 3 courses including Animal Management, Engineering and Hospitality and Catering; and a 93.1% pass rate in T-Levels.

Both Kieran Drewett and Benjamin Miller are celebrating completing the Level 3 BTEC National Extended Diploma in Information Technology. Both Kieran and Benjamin achieved triple Distinction*.

Benjamin is also celebrating winning the Student of the Year Award and will be looking at apprenticeships or universities next. He said: “My time at BCoT has been extremely rewarding, achieving high grades and opening new doors of opportunity I never thought was possible. As a student, my opinion and input were valued especially when I questioned the potential impact of generative AI in education. I am forever in debt for the experience BCoT has provided me to grow.”

Keiran, who will be starting a Level 6 Degree Apprenticeship with IT consultancy firm Capgemini and Sheffield Hallam University as a Software Engineer, in September, added: “My time learning at BCoT has been absolutely incredible; they have given me the confidence to further my education and to take my next steps into the workplace.”

Principal, Anthony Bravo OBE, said: “Congratulations to all our students on receiving their results – they’ve worked so hard and should be very proud of everything they’ve achieved.

“We believe education leads to better life chances and have developed our courses to be accessible to all students whether they thrive on classroom-based learning or prefer a more ‘active’ learning approach. I wish all our students the very best as they take the next steps on their education journey.

“I’d also like to thank our talented teaching staff and support teams for their efforts this year. The dedication shown by our staff and students is reflected in our amazing pass rate, and I’d personally like to thank each one of them for all their hard work.”
