Talent, hard work, and determination were celebrated in style yesterday as Basingstoke College of Technology hosted its annual Prizegiving Ceremony at the Hampshire Court Hotel. Basingstoke.

The event brought together students, families and curriculum staff to honour the outstanding achievements of individual students across all course areas, from vocational training and T Levels, to apprenticeships and higher education.

Dozens of students walked across the stage to receive awards recognising not only their academic excellence but also their resilience, team spirit and dedication to their chosen fields.

Awards were presented across course areas ranging from engineering and automotive, through to health & social care and beauty, highlighting BCoT’s broad curriculum and its vital role in nurturing the region's future workforce. Highlights of the evening included:

Academic Excellence Awards: Recognising students who achieved top marks and demonstrated deep subject mastery.
Apprentice of the Year: Celebrating those bridging the gap between classroom learning and industry excellence with local employers.

"Tonight is a testament to what can be achieved when passion meets perseverance," said Lorraine Heath, Principal of Basingstoke College of Technology. "Our students have shown incredible dedication, and it is a privilege to celebrate their success in front of the community that supports them. They leave us not just with qualifications, but with the skills and confidence to shape the future."

The choice of the Hampshire Court Hotel provided a fittingly grand backdrop for an evening dedicated to local success. 

As the graduates and award-winners look toward their next steps, whether that means entering the workforce, starting an apprenticeship, or heading to university, BCoT continues to cement its reputation as a cornerstone of educational excellence in Hampshire.
