This one-year introductory course to animal
care covers a range of units including animal
behaviour, feeding, accommodation and health.
Upon completing the course, you can progress
to our Level 3 course in Animal Management or
You will receive instruction, guidance and encouragement to practice and develop the skills necessary to achieve the award. The course covers a wide range of subjects including:
GCSE English and maths at grade 3 or above,
or Level 1 Functional Skills, or completion of
our Future Pathways course.
The course is continuously assessed through assignments, projects and case studies. Students will develop a responsible and co-operative approach to working on their own and in groups. The course uses practical activities, presentations and involvement with local businesses wherever possible.

Successful completion of this course would allow you to progress to the Level 3 in Animal Management at BCoT or a related apprenticeship/employment.
