This BPEC Level 3 qualification consists of 4 mandatory units that comprise practical and theoretical elements.
Candidates must be a minimum of 16 years old and should have a minimum NVQ Level 2/3 qualification in plumbing or conventional heating engineering or demonstrable evidence of at least 3 years relevant experience, a Domestic Vented and Unvented Hot Water Storage Systems Certificate, Water Regulations and Part L Energy Efficiency Certificates.
Assessments consist of a combination of practical and theory examinations.
Successful completion of this qualification proves that learners are competent to install, commission, decommission service and maintain solar thermal hot water systems and therefore will extend career opportunities in the emerging technologies field.
