This two year Counselling Practitioner course is intended for those who want to train as professional Counsellors in an agency setting. Successful completion will enable learners to provide a therapeutic counselling service within an agency framework and also progress to independent practice after further training and/or practice.
On completion candidates will:
Counselling skills learnt at Level 3 will be further developed including: self-awareness, knowledge and understanding of the skills necessary for further training at Level 5.

Level 3 Certificate in Counselling Skills.
All applicants will require to be interviewed. Assignments will need to be typed so applicants must be IT literate. The course covers 420 hours of study over the two years.
Learning and Reflective Journal, written and maintained throughout the course covering at least 80% of the course sessions, practical role-play assessments, 100 hours counselling placement with relevant agency, eight written essays over two years and an exam in Year Two.
Progression onto Level 5 Counselling qualification.
