Course Overview
This one-year UAL qualification provides a strong foundation in many areas including audio production, interactive components such as web design and games development, alongside
visual components like photography, animation and film editing. You will be taught by industry specialists in each discipline who will be able to guide you through the creative process, providing valuable feedback.
Course Content
Your programme will give you experience in techniques for audio production, visual production and interactive media production. We will teach a wide range of skills in these disciplines which you can develop and progress towards your chosen level 3 route.
There will be a strong contextual base in understanding an audience and the types of media products that will be suitable for them, along with how products and designs fit within a historical context.
You will have the opportunity to plan, design and develop your own final major product which will be exhibited in the end-of-year show.
Entry Requirement
- Four GCSEs at grade 3 or above including English and maths.
Assessment
The assessments are project based within each discipline and then a final major project. There are eight units in total on this course.
Where does this course lead to
To progress to level 3 you will need a minimum of a merit grade, a strong portfolio of work and 90% attendance.
The course allows you to compose a broad portfolio of work that can be used to gain entry into further study or a level 3 apprenticeship.
