This qualification aims to prepare learners to become early years educators, enabling them to work with children from birth to five years and gain knowledge of children aged five to seven years.
During this diploma you will study the mandatory units which are:
- Introduction to the Role of the Early Years Educator
- Holistic Child Development
- Children with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND)
- Effective Communication in an Early Years Setting
- Safeguarding and Welfare Requirements
- Health, Wellbeing and Safety
- Promoting an Effective Early Years Curriculum
- Assessment of Children’s Learning and Development
- Understanding Play for Learning and Holistic Development
- Partnership Working
Applicants should work in an early years setting and preferably have a Level 2 Diploma in Childcare or relevant experience.
This qualification is work-based and your programme will be delivered in the workplace and online, with an allocated, experienced Business Trainer. They will assess your work, giving you development feedback, professional discussions, and workplace observations.
This qualification can lead to a Level 4 Advanced Practitioner Certificate.
