Course Overview
This professional qualification is for those working in, or wishing to work within, manufacturing (machining) engineering. It is a day-release course that provides a nationally-recognised qualification that offers career progression for those already in the engineering industry and wishes to enhance your career prospects or if you are looking for a career change.
The qualification provides a thorough grounding in the key concepts and practical skills required by the sector with national recognition by employers. The course is delivered on a day-release basis over two years.
Two years qualification and 42 months apprentice standard followed by EPA in three parts
Entry Requirement
- 4 GCSEs at grade C/4 or equivalent, including mathematics, English and science.
Individual employers will set the recruitment and selection criteria for their Apprenticeships.
Assessment
The Level 3 Apprenticeship will be assessed by a combination of an evidence portfolio gathered from workplace activities, college assignments and an end point assessment.
Where does this course lead to
The course offers progression to the HNC and is a recognised means of career progression within the engineering industry.
