Course Overview

The combined NCFE diploma is designed to equip you with the knowledge, understanding and skills required for success within either the world of the Uniformed Public Services or within the Sport and Leisure industry. Job roles of interest include the Police, The Fire and Rescue Service, the Armed Forces or within Personal Training, Lifeguarding or Sports Coaching.

Course Content

On this one-year course, you will:

Investigate employment within a variety of exciting careers
Develop Physical fitness; your own personal development or how to train others
Undertake adventurous activities
Participate in competitive sports
Develop teamwork and problem-solving skills
Health and safety training and regulations
Health and hygiene training and understanding
Follow uniformed service routine
Exploring equality and diversity in the workplace

Students will have the opportunity to undertake a variety of enrichment activities; which include;

Residential trip to the Isle of Wight
Opportunity to gain First Aid and Lifeguarding (NPLQ) Qualification
Guest Speakers from all Uniformed Services and Sport & Leisure Industries
Visits to external partners, including Longmoor Barracks (British Army), CTCRM Lympstone (Royal Marines), University Campus of Football Business (Wembley Stadium) and Local Gym/Sports Facilities

Entry Requirement

Four or more GCSEs at grade 3 or above. Completion of a related vocational Level 2 qualification or our Future Pathways course.

Assessment

This course contains no exams, and your skills will be developed and assessed through assignments, workbooks and visual skill/coaching assessments. To be awarded this qualification, learners must achieve a Pass (or higher) grade in all units.

Where does this course lead to

Learners who complete this qualification, at a level of Merit or above, can progress onto a Level 3 Programme, within either Sport or the Uniformed Public Services and continue their development towards a career within either industry.
