This one-year advanced level course will give you a thorough grounding in all areas required for entry into the uniformed services, progressing to the second year of the course. You will learn about a wide range of public services, which will give you a broad overview of the different careers available in the public services. The course is a 50/50 mix of theory based units and practical elements looking at a range of services such as the Police, Army, Prison Service, RAF and Fire Service. The units covered in the Diploma are wide ranging such as Prepare for a career in a uniformed service, Crime Scene Investigation, Leadership Skills and Map Reading.
Five GCSEs at grade 4 or above, including English and maths, or completion of the Level 3 Introduction to Public Services at a Merit or Distinction.
The qualification will be assessed through 100% course work with no exam required. The units are completed using PASS,MERIT and DISTINCTION criteria.
The qualification if completed can lead learners to the second year of the qualification, where you will study the Extended Diploma.
