Course Introduction

This one-year NCFE qualification is designed to introduce you to the exciting world of Uniformed Public Services, helping you develop the knowledge, confidence and practical skills needed to progress into further education and future employment.

Course Content

On this one-year course, you will:

Explore careers in the Uniformed Services
Develop your physical fitness
Develop teamwork and communication skills
Improve self-discipline and personal development
Undertake outdoor and adventurous activities
Develop map reading and navigation skills
Participate in competitive sports
Understand health and safety
Explore volunteering opportunities

Students will also have the opportunity to participate in a variety of enrichment activities, which may include:

Outdoor adventurous activities and team-building challenges
Educational visits to local Uniformed Services establishments
Guest speakers from the Armed Forces and Emergency Services
Community volunteering and charity fundraising activities
Practical fitness training and competitive sports events
Opportunities to develop additional skills and qualifications where available

Entry Requirement

GCSE English and maths at grade 2 or above

Assessment

This course does not include formal examinations.Your knowledge and practical skills will be developed and assessed through a variety of activities, including:

Written assignments and workbooks
Practical activities and observations
Individual and group presentations
Teamwork and problem-solving tasks
Outdoor and adventurous activities
Personal development projects

To achieve the qualification, students must successfully complete the required units and assessments in accordance with NCFE awarding requirements.
