Course Introduction

The VTCT Skills Level 3 Diploma in Beauty Therapy Treatments is a course that has been specifically designed to develop your practical beauty therapy skills such as; face and body electrotherapy and body massage. Increase your employability options with this one-year technical course.

Course Content

During this one-year course, you will learn:

To monitor and maintain health and safety practices in the salon
Client care and communication in beauty-related industries
Working in beauty-related industries
To provide body massage
To provide facial electrotherapy treatments
To provide body electrotherapy treatments
To provide self-tanning
To apply microdermabrasion
To apply stone therapy massage

Throughout this course, you will develop the knowledge, understanding and skills to consult with clients whilst providing a range of beauty treatments. You will also develop your communication and customer service skills, awareness of environmental sustainability, and commercial skills, all of which are valued highly by employers. Problem-solving, teamwork and research skills will also be developed.

Entry Requirement

Five GCSEs at grade 4 or above, including English and maths, or a relevant Level 2 qualification.

Assessment

As part of this qualification, you are required to produce a portfolio of evidence. A portfolio will confirm the knowledge, understanding and skills that you have learnt.

The practical assessment booklet along with the portfolio of evidence will serve as the prime source of evidence for this qualification.

Evidence in the portfolio may take the following forms:

• Observed work

• Witness statements

• Audio-visual media

• Evidence of prior learning or attainment

• Written questions

• Oral questions

• Assignments

• Case studies

• Professional discussion

• Level 4 Diploma in Permanent Hair Removal and Skin Rejuvenation

• Level 4 Certificate in Laser and Intense Pulsed Light (IPL) Treatments

• Level 4 Award in Skin Blemish Removal

This qualification may lead directly into employment in as a senior beauty therapist in a beauty salon or spa or to self-employment as a mobile beauty therapist.
