English and maths are essential for your future. When you join us, if you do not have a minimum of a GCSE grade C/4 and above in either, you will have to retake them alongside your studies. This will be through GCSE classes or Functional Skills in English and/or maths if you are below a level 2.
English is the third largest spoken language in the world, with over 1.5 billion speakers globally. If you speak English as a second language and want to improve your reading, writing, spelling and maths skills, our full time ESOL course is designed to help you. The course is open to all levels and abilities.

Current students can access CENTURY here to complete English and maths courses online, both in and outside of college.

Most employers and universities are now asking for a minimum of a GCSE grade C/4 in English and Maths, making it very important to pass these subjects. Once you have passed both, you will be in a position to take the opportunities that life has to offer.
Facilities
Our English & Maths Hub is also open to students for extra support.As part of ESOL Skills for Life, you will have a personal tutor who will have regular tutorials with you.
The College has achieved an overall pass rate of 97.4% for GCSE English and 98.2% for GCSE Maths.
