Workplace violence and Harassment can have huge consequences for employers, employees and the work environment. The Trades Union Congress (TUC) estimates that 29% of people have been bullied at work, and more than 1 in 3 people who report being bullied leave their job because of it. Understanding effective communication and ways to reduce conflict in the workplace will help to create a more positive working environment, benefiting both employers and employees, and improving job satisfaction, health and wellbeing, and productivity.
This qualification is designed for learners who want to increase their knowledge and understanding of workplace violence and harassment across any sector.
This will focus on the study of possible causes of violence in the workplace and how to reduce the risk of workplace violence and harassment.
Throughout this course you will complete 4 units covering the following:
- Unit 01 Contributing to a positive and safe working environment - This unit aims to provide learners with an understanding of how organisational policies and procedures can contribute to creating a positive and safe working environment, in addition to understanding their responsibilities and limitations. You will also have an understanding of risk assessment and how to promote a positive and supportive workplace culture.
- Unit 02 Violence in the workplace - The aim of this unit is to provide learners with an understanding of workplace violence. Learners will understand the possible causes of violence in the workplace, how to reduce the risk of workplace violence and reporting procedures to follow when workplace violence occurs.
- Unit 03 Understanding aggression, bullying and harassment in the workplace - This unit aims to provide the learner with an understanding of aggressive behaviour, bullying and harassment in the workplace. This unit aims to provide the learner with an understanding of aggressive behaviour, techniques to de-escalate such behaviour and outline the impact that aggressive communications can have on the workplace.
- Unit 04 Understand equality, diversity and inclusion in the workplace - The aim of this unit is for the learner to develop an understanding of equality, diversity and inclusion in the workplace. This will include current workplace legislation and how individual rights are protected.
To complete this distance learning course at no charge you will need to match the following entry criteria:
- Are a resident of the EEU (European Economic Area) and have been for at least 3 years
- Will be undertaking your learning within England
- Are aged 19 or above
- There are no formal entry requirements for this course but you will need to have a good standard of English and maths.
- Studying via distance learning means you can choose when and where you study.
- We recommended allowing a minimum of 5 to 6 hours per week to study this course in your own time.
- You will be given submission dates for each unit to help you stay on track and complete within the allocated timeframe of 6 months.
- This course is delivered through online assessments and online learning materials.
- You are required to study the learning materials online and then answer knowledge-based assessments that confirm your understanding of the topics.
- We encourage learners to reflect on their own experiences, work-based or personal, and include these within their answers where relevant and suitable.
- This is a level 2 qualification, answers should be formed in paragraphs and learners will be required to write in detail, using structured sentences demonstrating knowledge.
- Learners are allocated a Marker, who will provide feedback and guidance on all assessment submissions.
